This was my first visit. I was drawn to the place because of the cool decor and it seems busy so it must be good. I was asked to check in, no problem. Wait was a little long (30 + minutes) but I just used it to get work done via email. I'm called up and the associate was nice. Standard intro, "What are we doing today? yada yada." She asked if it was my first time I said it was. I was confused on the pricing because they have different packages with different price levels. I wasn't sure on the difference between the MVP and the Triple Play but I knew I wanted my hair cut and washed. So she said "Sounds like the MVP is what you want. You'll love it." Ok. Hair cut was great. This is the most important part obviously. Everything else is really secondary. The hair wash was great. Hot face towel and bit of a scalp massage. Not bad. Finish up and return to the chair where I received a brief massage with a hand massager on the shoulders. Felt good. Product and styled ready to go. All things were good. Checking out was where I was just confused. There's a wheel that some people spin and when I asked about it, she said "That's if you check in on line." Fair enough. Now I know, but if I didn't ask, I would have never known. Rings me up and I notice an additional $5 charge on the screen but she's going so fast and there's people behind me that I can tell she's just trying to get through with this, have me pay and move on. I give her the tip and when I go to sign the total I finally ask her to help me understand the receipt. I was charged $23 MVP because it was my first time. Got it. $5 tip Got it $5 double (I forget the word something like innings, or time) CONFUSED I asked about that and I honestly don't understand what she was saying because it was jumbled into her whole sales pitch. Did she just add a $5 charge so she could get $5 out of me? I mean in the end, it's $5 and I don't care about the $5. But it's the shady part of it that has me frustrated. What kind of person has to be shady to get $5?! If I return I will avoid her.

Love this place and the stylists experience and talent. I haven't been anywhete else. It's been years since they opened in San Diego and then a Santee franchise. The amenities make it a complete and trusted business to provide service beyond compare.
